From building social networks to organizing protests and sharing global stories, media and communication dramatically affect our personal lives, our country and our world. Media literacy is essential for fostering connections, advancing social justice, combating misinformation and uplifting democracy.

At Muhlenberg, you’ll work closely with faculty to research, analyze and create media of all forms—visual, digital, print, oral and hybrid. You’ll investigate social, political, economic and cultural contexts that shape and are shaped by media. You’ll hone your creative voice and express yourself persuasively.

This program emphasizes real-world learning that will prepare you for a fulfilling career. Write for The Muhlenberg Weekly, our student newspaper or host a show on WMUH, our campus radio station. Intern with a local organization, present your media creations at a conference or art show, or study abroad to open yourself up to endless perspectives.

No matter your chosen path, you’ll engage with the media landscape while deepening your knowledge and skills as an information leader.
