Muhlenberg College and Erie County Community College (ECCC) have announced a new transfer agreement to Muhlenberg College School of Continuing Studies accelerated degree programs for qualified ECCC students graduating from specified associate in arts, associate in science, or associate in applied science degree programs.

The agreement is designed to make it easier for adult learners to earn four-year degrees, helping them to advance in current careers or pivot to new professional paths.

“Our partnership with Erie County Community College is an exciting opportunity for adults in northwestern Pennsylvania,” says Muhlenberg President Kathleen Harring, Ph.D.. “Together, we are creating a pathway for talented students to build upon their strong foundation at ECCC and take the next step toward completing their degrees and advancing their careers. We are happy to welcome these students into the Muhlenberg community, where they will find the support, resources, and transformative experiences that will empower them for the future — academically, professionally, and personally.”

ECCC students admitted under the agreement may earn bachelor’s degrees in business administration (with concentrations in business analytics, health care management, project management, human resources leadership, or supply chain management) or information systems management.

Muhlenberg’s accelerated, cohort-based, online model enables School of Continuing Studies students to complete degrees in less than two years. Its synchronous online courses provide flexibility for working professionals.

"As America's newest community college, Erie County Community College is working hard to bring our community opportunities that they haven't seen before and this partnership with Muhlenberg College is a special one,” says Erie County Community College Dean of Academics Stuart Blacklaw. “The Muhlenberg College School of Continuing Studies has built an excellent pathway for our adult students. Muhlenberg says that education should not get in the way of your life — and that is how ECCC feels, too. Together, we will do what it takes for students to reach their goals.”

This agreement with ECCC expands Muhlenberg’s commitment to creating accessible admissions pathways for adult learners. Muhlenberg’s School of Continuing Studies now has program-to-program transfer agreements with multiple regional community colleges, reinforcing its dedication to fostering lifelong learning and career advancement opportunities.
